Service Description

What is Retightening for Weave or Sew-In Extensions? Retightening, sometimes called a "move-up," is a maintenance process for weave or sew-in hair extensions. It involves adjusting the position of the extension wefts without fully removing them from your natural hair. This helps keep the extensions secure, comfortable, and looking fresh. Why is Retightening Necessary? Over time, both the braids and the attached wefts can loosen, shift, or become uncomfortable. Retightening restores the extensions to their original placement, preventing slippage, tangling, and discomfort. How is Retightening Done? A stylist will carefully move the extension wefts back up to their starting position. This can involve: Adjusting or tightening the braids Reinforcing or tightening the stitches Replacing or tightening beads (if beads are used for attachment) How Often Should You Retighten? To keep your extensions looking and feeling their best, retightening is typically recommended every 4 to 6 weeks. Benefits of Regular Retightening Prevents breakage of your natural hair Maintains the style and neat appearance of your weave Keeps extensions secure and comfortable for longer wear Regular retightening is key to enjoying beautiful, long-lasting sew-in or weave extensions.
